CLIENT: Dandelion Learning are education consultants who provide both online and physical training sessions for primary school teachers and TAs throughout the UK

BRIEF: The client required a website that could enable schools and other education professionals to book training courses for their staff. Initially the requirement was for physical sessions in Cornwall but this was rolled out to cover online zoom training sessions.

EXECUTION: This was multi-stage, complex eCommerce scenario due to the many specific requirements of the client’s business.

To start with there was a detailed design brief to carry out, with a top-to-bottom rebrand of the business, providing logos emails, hosting and a brand ‘look’ for the website.
For the commerce side of the website we needed to factor in the way schools do business, and also the offers that our client had for their customers. This meant intensive client-faced sessions to get the eCommerce framework, WooCommerce, performing as needed. Overall, this approach saved the client many thousands of pounds by avoiding the need for a bespoke system coded from the outset.

In addition to the ability to offer paid courses, our client also needed there to be a category of free ‘taster’ courses that were offered, alongside the ability for their customers to download training materials from secure portions of the website.

Another, very specific requirement was that all transactions made through WooCommerce be exported to the client’s QuickBooks, to ease the accounting progress.

A final, very important component of the service we offered Dandelion Learning was training on how to use the website themselves to set up products and manage the accounting side. This was provided through a series of training videos and sessions.
